Concept

MiniCAM handheld stabilizer is designed based on the leverage principle. It applies basic physics concepts and features such as gravity, inertia, etc. It also incorparates a gimbal system coupled with fine-tuning capabilities.

 

This device uses a typical steelyard leverage concept where the object, fulcrum distance and the mass of the object affects the balance of the steelyard.

 

The MiniCAM stabilizer uses a universal joint as fulcrum. The camera and counter weight produces the impact force. To achieve a balance in the system, fine tuning of the fulcrum distance and the mass of the object is required.

 

Note: Throughout this manual, the word camera refers to both video cameras and digital cameras with video capabilities.
